Instructor Bios

ESL Instructors

Lois has been teaching ESL for more than 20 years in the San Diego area. She has a Masters in Education and a Bachelor's in Journalism from the University of Oregon, along with a TESOL certificate from UCSD. She loves inspiring second-language learners and helping them to achieve their goals. 
Diana has been teaching ESL (K-12). She holds a teaching certificate for 40 years and has been teaching ESL and Citizenship classes to adults for five years at SDCCD, Continuing Education. Diana is an Adjunct Citizenship and ESL instructor.  She loves teaching and working with K-12 students and adults.

CTE Instructors

Nora will have the pleasure of leading you through the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) course. She is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). In this role, she has worked in both private and educational settings. She also has twelve years of experience as an elementary school educator and, more recently, have taken on a role in adult education, offering professional development opportunities to staff at the school district level and to adult students engaged in a master's degree program at Arizona State University. She looks forward to getting to know you all! 
Victor has been working with computers for over 18 years. He loves technology and tries to stay updated with the trend as best possible. Aside from private consulting, he pursued a Bachelor of Science in IT Management with an emphasis in Computer Science. His goal is to bring technology awareness to users that have not used a computer before as well as to professional office environment aspiring users. He loves motivating his students to do better and always keeps on learning regardless of age or any circumstances. Victor is bilingual in English and Spanish and he is happy to help his students the best way possible. He looks forward to passing on some of his knowledge to you.

Instructors for Fee-Based Classes

Roberto is an experienced and versatile guitarist who holds an Associates of Arts in Music Studies from San Diego Mesa College. Roberto has a wealth of experience teaching music theory, various levels of guitar, and ukulele in a variety of public and private educational settings in the San Diego County area.  Roberto has developed a rich experience teaching adults and children of all ages for the past 8 years. His unique approach to teaching beginners makes learning easy and FUN!
Lorena Bača has been teaching foreign languages for the past twenty-two years. Lorena's extensive travel has brought her love and respect for other cultures and languages. Lorena is the founder of Elia Enterprises, LLC, a translation and interpretation firm that has helped its clients to communicate with their vast multicultural audience. Thirteen years ago, she started a foreign language enrichment program in private schools in Las Vegas, Nevada. In the 2018-2019 school year, the program celebrated its 10th year anniversary in the Coronado Unified School District campuses, making a fun learning experience for students aged preschool through adults.
Christine studied ballet professionally with the School of American Ballet of the New York City Ballet, the Joffrey Center City Ballet, and the Pennsylvania Ballet. She performed with the Princeton Ballet Society and Princeton University Dancers. Christine is the President of the Americas Foundation, Fundacion de las Americas. Also, she has been directing the performing arts program for the La Esperanza schools and the fledgling Universidad Marucana for the past 30 years. 
Kirstin is a local mosaic artist whose work can be seen all around the Coronado including murals Coronado High School, Coronado Golf Course, Spreckels Park, Sharp Coronado Hospital, the Cays, and more. She has been making her living as a mosaic artist for over a decade and loves to share the tips and tricks of the trade as well as fostering an environment in which her students can express themselves fully through this fascinating media. In addition to mosaic work, she is proficient in many visual art mediums and loves to create and eat beautiful plant-based cuisine. She has traveled extensively, worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ghana, was head chef and manager of a vegetarian restaurant, and is currently working on her Master's Degree in Expressive Arts Therapy. Nancee is a freelance photojournalist and owner of Nancee Lewis Photography.  She works in the greater San Diego area covering news and feature events for local media outlets. Over the past 30 years, she has been a staff member of The San Diego Union-Tribune, The Chicago Tribune, and The Shreveport Times. Currently, besides her photojournalistic endeavors, she photographs private events, corporate and commercial assignments, and works with clients creating stylized individual and family portraiture. Nancee welcomes the opportunity to teach" others who are interested in photography and to share her passion for the photographic arts. She looks forward to working with students and passing along the knowledge she has gathered along her own photographic journey.
John has been a ballroom/partner dance instructor for Balboa Park Ballroom Dance Club for 25 years, San Diego State University for 15 years, and the YMCA for seven years.
Samira is a Master Artist with years of experience in painting, sculpting, and artwork in a variety of mediums.  She graduated from Azad University of Art & Architecture in Tehran, Ian and has many solo and group exhibitions and consults and advises different artists based on using art materials and methods.
