SPRING 2023
Courses for Educators:
This semester course focuses on theories of physical, psychosocial and cognitive development of children from conception through adolescence. This course is now articulated with Southwestern College's CD170 course!
Whether you want to start your education career or already have a job, this introductory 3-hour course will provide behavioral support strategies (the foundation for Instructional Assistant success) and resources you can use throughout the school year. Your instructor, Nora Menzies, BCBA, is our RBT instructor. Five dates to choose from!
This 6-hour course will give participants practical skills training to help students with higher need behavior and health concerns. Through integrating modeling and scenario-based situations, learn applicable skills you can use immediately. After the 6-hour in-person course, students will have a bi-monthly check-in via Zoom to receive additional training and get support from classmates and your health instructor, Kris Collins, BSN, RN.
This series of foundational courses are designed for all classroom teachers, from new to veteran. It coers ways to improve your practice and revive your love for teaching. The focus of this course will be actionable behavior management strategies and will be taught by lead instructor, Nora Menzies, BCBA. Guest lecturers will teach additional topics to aid in meeting the needs of your diverse student population. Take one or multiple classes!

Certificate Requirements
Certificate Requirements
RBT Certificate:
To receive a Certificate of Completion for the RBT course, students must:
- Attend all 40 hours of the course
- Regularly participate in class
- Complete all assignments
K12 Educator Success Training Institute Certificate:
To receive a Certificate of Completion for the 45-hour K12 Educator Success Training Institute, students must successfully complete all 7 foundational courses. Successful completion includes:
- Attend at least 80% of each course
- Regularly participate in all classes
- Complete all assignments
Coronado Adult Education will track your participation, so if you do not complete all courses within one semester, you are still able to earn a Certificate of Completion.
Add-on courses will be available in Fall 2023. Students will have the opportunity to earn an additional Certificate of Completion in one or more of the following tracks:
